In the role, you will be representing the business working on-site supporting customers during the installation, commissioning, sea-trails, and warranty/servicing phases.

You will be travelling to shipyards and marinas, dealing with senior representatives and yacht owners so being comfortable with travel and strong communication skills are needed for the role.

The company produces a range of electrically powered marine systems, full product training will be provided, but we are looking for someone with a strong multi-disciplinary background (mechanical, electrical, and electronics)

The position would ideally suit someone with a marine engineering apprenticeship background with exposure to the industry and training in marine electrical/mechanical systems.

Size and Scope of the Role The position has the aim of ensure the complete assistance to the vessels, from their arrival, during their stay and until the departure, in the Monaco area. It provides the completion of the clearance activities with the local authorities and any other request coming from the clients. In the specific, it organizes the supplies of any nature products/services and a complete assistance to the clients during their stay. It verifies that the planned services are provided accordingly and performs promptly in case of any modifications or necessity. It arranges the vessel folder or the input of the data in the AYPRO platform with every information related the services delivered to the clients. It has to verify that all the expenses are authorized in advance by the captain.

 

Key Accountabilities • Collaborate in the forwarding mooring requests to the authorities preparing the vessel folder or

to input the data in the AYPRO platform by collecting the much possible information about the characteristics of the vessels and about the aim of the visit;

• Ensure the information transmission to the captain about the guidelines to access and stay in the harbour, including the documents to draft before and after the arrival of the yacht;

• Ensure the assistance to the clients during the pre-arrival time and through the collection of specific requests and/or the offer of any services with the aim of organize the stay in the harbour;

• Ensure its presence at the assigned arrival berth of the yacht, verifying that there are not obstacles in the berthing phase;

• Ensure the first meeting with the clients on board (Welcome), in order to gather all necessary documentation for the authorities and to collect the ID documents for the border control. It provides all the information about the services requested or suggested, summarizing the organization of the stay and managing the additional request;

• Ensure, during all stay and in pre-arrival phase, the quotation of the services that will be provided in order to achieve the authorization from the captain and to avoid any disputes;

 

 

• Organize the necessary provisioning, during the stay of the yacht in the harbour;

• Ensure the control and the correct execution about the organized services and perform promptly in case of necessity or variations;

• Ensure the collection of all the information about the services delivered and the relative costs in the vessel folder and/or AYPRO platform, in order to facilitate the administration office in the issue of the invoices;

• Ensure the management of the daily activities, sharing with the colleagues all the information in order to plan the services according to the Company quality standards;

• If necessary, provide directly for the purchases, always obtaining the related invoices/receipts according to the Administration Department indications;

• Manage all the information with the utmost confidentiality and following the GDPR European regulation;

• In collaboration with the HR Department and under the responsibility of the Office Manager, support and take care of the training of the new staff;

• Ensure the application of Company procedures and policies;

• Give the availability also out of working hours for any contingency.

Qualifications and Education Requirements • Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism/Shipping/Languages o Diploma with relevant experience in the

yachting sector.

 

Experience • Experience in Tourism sector and in the Customer Care area;

• Preferable experience in a yachting agency;

• Preferable experience in the events organization.

 

Knowledges, Competencies and Skills • Knowledge of the Monaco and of the surrounding territory;

• Preferably knowledge of the cultural and artistic aspects of the area;

This project would suit someone with a passion for traditional wooden boats, with a background/training as a Shipwright/traditional wooden boatbuilder.

Working alongside the owner, who has a great deal of knowledge and experience in wooden boats, he is looking for someone who has the right skills to help refurbish the yacht and shares his interest in traditional wooden boat building.

SYR is supporting a busy shipyard producing an exciting range of semi-custom craft in France, working on some of the most high-end racing boats, which look absolutely stunning, you will be joining a highly skilled team and expected to work to a high standard.

 

You will have a proven background in the installation of marine deck gear, ideally from a high-end racing boat background or carbon-fibre yacht production.

 

With a range of craft in production, the role will see you involved across the build process. Working on fitting equipment across the external structure, such as deck hardware, lifting components, hatches, doors, various components/fabrications, etc.

 

As the role is based in Europe, applicants must be able to live and work in the EU.

We are currently looking for a Marine Engineer to join a dedicated team of craftsmen in Portsmouth.

Working with an independent yacht refit, repair and maintenance service provider. The role will see you cover all manner of tasks from annual maintenance to full refits.

SYR is looking for someone to join this team and cover a range of marine engineering tasks within a busy and exciting environment.
