Job Description

Our client is a leading provider of ship and yacht management services, is seeking an experienced Yacht Compliance Manager to oversee and manage all compliance-related activities across the managed yacht fleet. This role ensures that our luxury yachts operate in full adherence to international maritime regulations, flag state requirements, class rules, and internal safety and quality standards.

The successful candidate will bring deep knowledge of maritime compliance, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for operational excellence in the luxury yacht sector.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure full compliance of managed yachts with IMO, ISM, ISPS, MLC, MARPOL, and relevant flag state and port state regulations.

  • Maintain and update the Safety Management System (SMS) and other compliance documentation.

  • Oversee yacht audits, inspections, certifications, and surveys in coordination with class societies and flag state authorities.

  • Track changes in maritime legislation and ensure proactive implementation of regulatory updates.

  • Provide compliance guidance and support to yacht captains, crew, and operations teams.

  • Lead internal and external audits, ensuring timely corrective and preventive actions.

  • Develop and deliver compliance training programs for onboard and shore-based personnel.

  • Collaborate with the QHSE department to align yacht compliance strategies with company-wide standards.

  • Monitor and manage yacht documentation related to safety, crew, pollution prevention, and technical operations.

  • Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies, class societies, and clients on compliance matters.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a yacht or commercial shipping compliance role, or extensive sea time in a relevant engineering role

  • Experience in maritime sectors such as commercial and/or cruise are advantageous
  • Strong understanding of international maritime regulations and yacht-specific compliance standards.

  • Experience with ISM/ISPS/MLC implementation and audit processes.

  • Familiarity with various flag states including Cayman Islands, Marshall Islands, and Malta.

  • Previous experience working with large private or charter yachts (500 GT and above) preferred.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency with compliance and document management software.


  • Can be based in either Northern Germany or the South of France

  • Salary band is €70-80,000 DOE
